Day 18- A book that disappointed you

I  thought I would really enjoy this book as contains lots of historical references and yet I didn't enjoy it. The book just didn't have much happening and I found it a really slow dull read.

Day 17- Favourite quote from your favourite book

One of my favourite quotes is from Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. The quote is- 'And so the lion fell in love with the lamb. What a stupid lion. What a sick masochistic lion'. I love this quote.

Day 16- Favourite female character

One of my favourite female characters is Maura Isles from the Rizzoli and Isles series of books by Tess Gerritsen. This photo is of Maura Isles from the TV show Rizzoli and Isles shown on Alibi. I love her because she is really smart, always tries to see the good in people and does the best at her job that she can even when she is not permitted to do her job. The show is a lot different from the books, but I love the book and the show. Maura is always up against lots of different challenges and always comes through them. She wants to see the good in everyone, but that doesn't always work out as not everyone is a good person.

Day 15- ;Favourite male character

Finnick Odair is one of my favourite male characters because of his charm, his wit and he does everything he can to protect his mentor Mags. Mags was his mentor when he won the hunger games. However, Mags sacrifices herself so that Finnick, Peeta and Katniss can survive the poisonous fog. This broke Finnick's heart as you could tell how much he loved and cared about her. He is just a beautiful person who will do anything for the people he loves (Mags and Annie). Plus in Catching Fire he is played by the gorgeous British actor Sam Claflin.

Day 14- Book turned movie and completely desecrated

I loved the book as it was quite a quick read. The film was good, but I didn't see why they needed to split it into 3 films when the book is really short. There wasn't many action scenes in the first film, but it was still an enjoyable film. 2 characters I love from the book and film are Fili and Kili. They are just loveable and really funny characters. Plus Kili in the film is played by the gorgeous Aiden Turner from Being Human.

Day 13- Your favourite writer

One of my favourite authors is Stephenie Meyer, the author of the Twilight series of books. I have read all of this series more than once. It is one series I love to re-read when I'm stuck on what to read next. I love all different authors, but she is one of my favourites.

Day 12- A book you love but hate at the same time

I loved this book because of the characters, the storyline and never knowing what was going to happen next throughout the story. Some of the characters I really liked such as Barbie, Julia and others. The TV show is quite different from the book though which I find good as characters who die within the first 50 pages of the book are still alive in the TV show. However, I hated this book because it was a really long read and took a long time to read. This book is over 800 pages long so took me a while to finish it.

Day 11- A book you hated

These were 2 books that I hated. The Book of Blood and Shadow I found really boring and quite dull as nothing much happened throughout the book in my opinion. It was just a unenjoyable read for me as it was long and I couldn't get into what was supposed to be happening throughout the novel. Brother/Sister was also quite a boring read for me. I can't remember the exact plot, but I mainly think it was about an incest relationship between a brother and sister possibly. It has been a while since I read either of these books. I don't mind books like Brother/Sister, I just didn't enjoy this one as nothing much happened throughout the story.

Day 10- A book that reminds you of home

Unsaid Things by Mcfly reminds me of my childhood and how they were one of my favourite bands growing up. They are still one of my favourite bands as I love listening to their music and seeing them perform live. Never met the guys unfortunately, no matter how much I wish I had. It also reminds me of going with friends to see them perform on their first ever UK tour at Hammersmith Apollo and that was an awesome gig. They are and will always be one of my favourite bands and reading this book reminded me of that.

Day 9- A book you thought you wouldn't like but ended up loving

At first I didn't think I would like this book, but decided to give it a read anyway. However, when I read it I loved it. It contained lots of action, adventure and twists that I never saw coming. It is about children trying to live in a world where all the adults are gone. This is hard for young children to do but they eventually make it work. One reason I liked this novel was because I wanted to see how the children would survive without adults in their lives and what important decisions they would make in their new society.
